2019 Favorites - a year in Review.

WHAT. A. YEAR. 2019 was!

2019 was my first full year in business with Shaytionery Designs and Elite Events! We had so many amazing projects throughout 2019 and I am so excited to highlight my 2019 work.

2019 kick-started with my arrival back to the USA from my three month stay in Germany. I was so excited to come back and just get to work straight away. This year did not disappoint on my growth in design, clientele, and personal confidence in my business.

SO stick around while I break down my favorite projects from each month of 2019!

January was a great way start 2019 with many fun Invitation designs.

I went into 2019 with an ultimate decision on my branding, that instead of posting the digital design, I would only post flatlay work. I wanted to add a new vibe to my content and here are some of my first flat lays I ever did- simple, elegant and natural designs. ( trust me I got a lot better throughout the year, it was awesome to write this post and see my growth!)

February inspired two amazing projects for me, One was a client from California who really wanted her stationery suite to be authentic, personalized, and perfect. I absolutely loved working with Alicia & Matt and couldn't be happier about how my work turned out for them. Custom floral design, starsdream silver backing pocket card, and quartz envelopes- so swoon worthy.

My second amazing project was to work on this Harry Potter Styled shoot that got published multiple times shot by Lindsay from Lucky Bird Photography. This suite was custom designed by yours truly, complete with magical green watercolor, glitter sparkles and Hogwarts approved script- I solemnly swear I loved this shoot!

March had some fun designs as well, shooting more flatlays for social medias, I wanted to try to up my flat lay game and capture more paper and twine aesthetics- here are some of my favorites. I think I started to progress in flay-lay ideas ( but wait until November!)

April brought to me my favorite styled shoot of the year the Sandy dunes shoot! I had such a pleasure designing this suite, I got to get creative and design something even I would have had at my wedding day. You can find more on this shoot here. This suite combined paper with multiple contrasting elements, our translucent envelope, macrame inspired twine additions and tons of COLOR and this shoot got published twice!

May was perfect. Erica and I from Elite Events had our first full on wedding planning for 2019 with Karen & Adrian to checkout more from this day click here. This wedding was so special to Erica and I because it brought us everlasting friendship, Karen and Adrian are great people and were so pleasant to work with! I loved designing elements for their special day including their art deco inspired menu cards and escort card elements. This wedding also got us published in Toledo Wedding Magazine! During this month I also worked on an amazing whimsical styled shoot with a lot of fun new frendors, you can check that shoot out here (it is GORGEOUS).

June was a productive month, with multiple styled shoots and my first ever feature on a mall location! I had the pleasure of designing the logo for Levis Commons newest Boutique, The Shimmery Belle Boutique! I love driving by and seeing my own font work displayed! These two styled shoots I worked on were very special to me because I made some new friends in the industry and got to do things that inspired my heart, working with Brooke from Forevermore Weddings and Courtney Dutcher from Dutcher Flower Farms I adored testing out my wax seal and twine inspired farm table menu cards!

July was one for the books! I got to finally design some foiled invitations and these blush watercolor invites were one of my favorites ever. I also had the pleasure of designing some beautiful day- of wedding elements for Chelsea and Sri's farm to table wedding- along with my largest scaled seating chart to date with almost 300 names to assign, I spent a lot of time with this beauty.

August was my travel month to Italy, and that was well worth the nice break I got to have exploring the world.

September the fairy tale wedding. Jason and Amy got married. This day was such a pleasure to be able to design wedding elements for. I got to design programs, seating chart, menus. and decals for their welcome sign and cake wall! I loved this wedding, it was indeed magic. Amy & Jason were very easy to please as far as design was concerned and they trusted my abilities completely, which allowed me to truly work my magic! We decided on a seating chart mirror layout, complete with wax seals to secure their table cards. Program wise we tested out my newest fan program design and I was so in love with how these turned out, and yes! we did a cake wall for desserts, complete with mini cakes for all guests, the signage was so fun to hang for this one. ( we are still waiting on this amazing photo gallery to share, but I have some photos of my own from their day!, so sorry about the quality in advance.)

October was super spook-tacular! Not only did I get to work on two beautiful and fun styled shoots for Brooke from Forevermore Weddings, but I also got to star in one of Bailey from Wednesday Photography's styled shoots, you can check the shoot out here. The styled shoots were both very different from one another, the first being in a new venue in Cleveland, Ohio in the Ariel Pearl Center. This shoot was Navy & Gold and very art deco meets romance. The second shoot, was in a new barn venue in Arlington Acres- this shoot was all things FALL (cue falling in love), complete with my cutest little pumpkin escort placeholders.

November I officially upped my flatlay game even more with some gorgeous invites I made throughout the year, incorporating my take on Thanksgiving menus, and all of the soft fun elements of pampas grass and fur. I also perfected my favorite new stationery trend with watercolor map design- checkout this fun new addition to any suite!

December was a time to slow down, and reflect. But also such a fun month full of small projects. I designed multiple business cards for those launching new branding in 2020, started on 2020 save the date designs, and even made thank you cards for 2019 couples. It was a great way to wrap up my very productive, busy, and successful 2019!

2020 is already so promising for Elite Events and my own business, we are starting to book up even more than last year (which is an amazing feeling!) and I am currently working on 11 stationery projects for February- I am beyond blessed with my growth, and I hope you can see how diverse and fun my projects have been throughout the year. 2020 I am so ready to officially be here, I can't wait to see what you hold.

Until next time,

XOXO
