ELEGANT VINTAGE TOLEDO WEDDING

KAREN + ADRIAN WEDDING | MAY 25TH

MAGIC (defined): What happens when a wedding vision comes to life through all local Toledo vendors.

Karen & Adrian May 25TH 2019

When Elite Events received a message from Karen & Adrian in hopes of creating something unique and showcasing all Toledo vendors, we were ecstatic at the idea of trying something new, something magical. From the start Karen & Adrian instantly became good friends, and their vision truly allowed for us all to have our own creative freedom.

The Ford Mansion, K&A's Venue

The wedding and reception took place at a private historic house in Toledo's "Old West End," a Victorian neighborhood that was at its most vibrant at the turn of the last century. The mansion was built by Edward Ford and his Family in 1901, part owner of the Owens-Libbey-Ford glass company that helped give Toledo its nickname of "The Glass City." After years of disrepair, it is being lovingly restored by a local couple, Chuck & Finley, and they are were allowing Karen & Adrian to be the first wedding on the property in nearly 70 years!

Between meetings at their Venue, and Tiger Bakery snack stops, we were ready to see this gorgeous vision come to life!

Karen and Adrian wanted their guests to feel they were attending an Elegant house party, complete with tours of the old restored mansion during cocktail hour, passed gourmet hors d'oeuvres, a DJ playing Karen & Adrian's custom Vinyl collection, and many vintage touches.

The party would not stop there, as the guests would move from the restored mansion into the backyard where the old restored carriage house was located. This space was completely transformed, from the first day we saw the space until the reveal to the Bride and Groom, this space had gone through numerous clean-ups, up-lighting, leveling out the floors, and so much more just to create the perfect elegant atmosphere Karen & Adrian truly hoped for.

The guest flowed from the cocktail hour to the gorgeous clear tented dance floor with our custom mirror seating chart that was located on a full installation piece- hedge wall. Not only did the hedge wall create privacy for this event from site of the street, but it also helped guests to find their proper table for the reception. The reception dinner was to be held in the carriage house, complete with custom menus from me, and their "Toledo Loves Love" favors from Libbey Glassware.

When working start to finish with a client, our goal is to truly bring our clients dream to life. This moment sets in for us the second our couples get to see the final reception space, and this moment did not disappoint! Karen and Adrian were so appreciative and we just saw the love between them lighten up the space, between tears, hugs, and excitement we all got to rejoice in the fact that this design was flawless, and now they could enjoy their night knowing we would take care of the guest from here on out.

K & A's reaction to the reception space

The best part of my job? Seeing the vision come to life! I love seeing my stationery elements make an appearance throughout the wedding day. But my favorite thing in the whole world is being there for the Bride and Groom, I truly love the relationships I gain in this industry, and nothing compares to working next to my best friend, Erica with Elite Events. We thrive off the whole energy of an event day, we truly, honestly, love to give the perfect event. We adore working outside of the box, we want to push ourselves to be new and fresh and inspiring. And when we get clients like Karen & Adrian who trust us to use our creativity, that's when the true magic happens.

Elite Team with K & A on their big day!

XOXO,

Shay (Shaytionery)
