Spooky season is officially over, and I'm officially not ready for it to be! I don't know how Halloween came and went so quickly, but the event and wedding industry was so INSPIRED this season with amazing styled shoots, Halloween wedding themes and more. This is important to note in the event industry because so often we "theme" events, but finding new ways to inspire Halloween without it feeling too costume-esque is very important. This is creating and sparking new trends, ones that I am totally HERE for.
Let's talk about this amazing styled shoot Bailey Toot from @wednesdayphotography (checkout her amazing instagram) and I designed this season. We truly wanted to spark and inspire the Halloween spirit while still making it feel romantic, effortless, and spooky. Around this time of the year, often event and wedding vendors start to feel our inspiration and creativity levels falling. Planning weddings for a whole season can start to become repetitive and we start to fall into the same routine with each wedding day. So it's important for us to find a way to spark inspiration and to truly find a new eye in design.
This shoot was exactly the wedding relief both Bailey and I needed to let us feel inspired again. This is so so so important when you're in a creative industry. Not only did Bailey and I collaborate on a vision, but as far as photography went Bailey got to be creative and capture shots the way she wanted to, without fitting a clients expectations. This allows your vendors to truly capture their craft and art in ways that showcase their unique talents. It allows us to explore new levels of art, and play around with new angles, images, lighting and art forms. I was so excited when Bailey approached me on this project to be her subject. I had a blast picturing what type of setup we would want to do for a spooky shoot, that wasn't too "spooky".
Together we pulled together something so simply beautiful I just adore how it turned out. In our busy season taking time to expand on our creative ideas really is so exciting, we may be tired but this ignites a spark inside of us that reminds us how important it is to find your own voice and eye in this field. Without styled shoot us as professionals wouldn't be able to show case our true talents and I am so thankful for shoots like this to help us get inspired again.
